Clive Cooke

Chairman

Clive’s career in finance spans over 35 years. In fact, he even appeared on the talk show Wogan all the way back in 1987 to explain how the Big Bang had changed the City of London.

He went on to become a Director of a FTSE 100 money broker, Exco Plc, and subsequently became CEO of derivatives and forex broker City Index.

After buying his own ‘place in the sun’ in France, Clive spotted the opportunity to give customers a much better deal on their currency transfers.

James Pinkney

Director

James is an experienced financial markets professional with a career background covering foreign exchange and equity derivatives.

Having competed as a professional showjumper from the age of 16, James has built up an extensive portfolio of clients in the showjumping, bloodstock and racing industries. As part of his continued involvement in the equestrian sector, Key Currency is a sponsor of Oliver Tuff, a member of the British showjumping team and future Olympics star.

Jon Pinkney

Director

Prior to Key Currency, Jon worked as a private wealth advisor in financial markets. These days instead of managing money, he helps customers save money as well as hedge their foreign currency exposure.

Jon has also been competing in motocross for over 30 years and has built up a large network of clients and contacts ranging from teams, riders and parts suppliers. Key Currency is a sponsor of Team GB which competes internationally at the annual Motocross of Nations.

Andrew Gibson

Director

Before joining Key Currency, Andrew previously worked for the likes of Merrill Lynch, Credit Suisse and Deutsche Bank and has appeared as a market expert on CNBC and Bloomberg TV.

He is a Chartered Financial Analyst and Chartered Accountant.

Andrew is responsible for overseeing the company’s strategy and performance as well as driving new business channels.

Erik García Hiljding

Director of Spain

Erik is our Director of Spain. He has spent more than a decade working in currency markets and banking services in the Alicante region and was the Vice Delegate of the Swedish-Spanish Chamber of Commerce in the Valencia Community. On top of that, he’s also fluent in Spanish, English and Swedish!

Erik’s focus at Key Currency is on making sure we deliver great value coupled with old fashioned customer service to all our Spanish clients.

Geoff Lambourne

Director of Partnerships

Geoff is responsible for cultivating and supporting partnership opportunities and key business relationships.

He was previously General Manager of a major import-export company, Tulip Foods, where he managed large cross-border transactions in the US, Spain, Italy, Belgium and Germany.

Geoff also developed commercial relationships with some of the UK’s largest retailers including Tesco, Sainsburys and Marks and Spencer.

Tom Lobb

Head of Trading - PFX

Tom helps take the hassle and stress out of foreign exchange for both private individuals and companies, creating money-saving solutions and strategies that can mitigate the risk from volatile currency markets.

Prior to Key Currency, Tom worked at Enterprise Rent-a-Car where he was fast tracked to management positions due to his work ethic, positive attitude and focus on customer service. He has also attained a BA (Hons) in Business Management from the University of Gloucestershire.

Owen Wiles

Senior Trading Manager

With his organised, friendly and energetic approach, Owen makes life easier for our clients by seeking the best solutions for their currency requirements. His work ethic is second to none, and Owen will help a client day or night if that’s what’s needed.

Prior to Key Currency, Owen studied Law, Criminology & Political Science.

Rhys McCarthy

Head of Trading - CFX

Rhys heads up our dedicated CFX desk, which is focused on international payments for businesses. Through our proactive service we help manage FX risk and cut costs whether you are paying invoices or receiving funds.

Rhys has attained a degree in Law from the University of Plymouth, and wrote a dissertation on how international law can protect marine biodiversity. He is also a keen sportsmen and loves to hike, climb and surf.

Matthew Boorman

MLRO and Head of Compliance

As head of compliance and MLRO (Money Laundering Reporting Officer), Matthew is responsible for the oversight of the compliance department, ensuring that our policies and procedures are adhered to throughout the business.

He plays a critical role in upholding Key Currency’s commitment to conducting its business with the highest level of integrity and supporting the worldwide anti-money laundering effort.

Matthew ensures stringent compliance and reporting regulations are observed to protect both our company and our customers against financial crimes.

Ria Wainwright

Compliance Team Leader

Ria offers valuable support to our Head of Compliance, ensuring the onboarding process remains smooth and hassle-free. As an Authorised Payment Institution, regulatory compliance is a critical part of what we do.

Ria has a huge level of administrative experience combined with a caring, friendly nature. Outside of work, she loves being surrounded by her cats, dogs and family (in no particular order).

Deborah Hosking

Compliance Administrator

Deborah helps us with all the important compliance checks and general office support. Her vast experience and attention to detail make her a valued member of our team.

Outside the office, Deborah loves nothing more than listening to music or travelling to new places.

Rebecca Smalley

Compliance Assistant

As a regulated Authorised Payment Institution, compliance is a critical part of what we do. Rebecca offers valuable support to both our Compliance Officer and customer-facing staff, ensuring the onboarding process remains smooth and hassle-free.

Rebecca enjoys spending time in the gym, she’s interested in fitness and nutrition.  She also enjoys taking long walks with her dog and spending quality time with my friends and family.

Mike Smith

Head of Digital Development

Mike is our IT whizz. He heads up the digital development team responsible for implementing & refining our marketing strategies, CRM system and IT infrastructure.

Having previously worked for a multinational mortgage broker and boutique wealth advisor, Mike has brought a broad base of technical skills to Key Currency. We haven’t found anything yet he can’t fix or improve. Maybe one day we will, but we doubt it.

Oliver Hay

IT Support & Systems

Olly is one of our inhouse tech gurus. Whether its developing our payments infrastructure, tweaking our CRM systems or fixing a faltering PC, Olly comes to the rescue.

Prior to Key Currency, Olly attained his IT qualifications and worked at a national retailer. He relaxes by playing golf in his free time, walking his dogs and watching films.

Rory Lees

Head of PPC

Rory brings a wealth of experience and deep understanding within the world of PPC. He’s responsible for implementing and optimising our Pay Per Click media strategies.

Before joining Key Currency, Rory worked for one of the UK’s leading holiday cottage companies and largely contributed to their growth within the digital media space.

Outside of work, Rory is a keen sportsman who loves to surf, play squash and football.

Mark Peat

Head of SEO

Mark lives and breathes SEO. He brings a tonne of expertise and hands-on experience to the part-art, part-science world of organic search.

Ultimately, Mark aims to provide informative online content for anyone looking to move money from one country to another.

Outside of work Mark supports Birmingham City football club and still likes to play a bit himself (injuries and fitness permitting).

Jaime Stewart

Head of Customer Services - Spain

Jaime has extensive experience and deep expertise within foreign exchange.

She specialises in assisting our partner network find simple and mutually beneficial currency solutions that save clients time and money.

As someone that speaks both Spanish and English, Jaime can also help navigate any language or cultural differences.

Outside of work, she is active within the local sporting community.

Alex Liew

Head of Treasury

Alex brings a keen attention to detail and a wealth of experience to the treasury team with over 20 years working in international FX operations and customer support. His strong analytical and organisational skills keep our payment systems slick and streamlined.

Outside of work Alex is a keen cyclist and long suffering Spurs fan.

Kyle Ballard-King

Payments Officer

Kyle has a keen eye for detail and strong analytics skills, helped by his business and marketing diploma.

Outside of work he plays pool for Cornwall and was the County Champion last year. He also has a passion for football, boxing and Muay Thai (don’t mess with him!).

Wayne Sampson

Wayne helps our customers send their money abroad in a friendly, efficient and cost-effective way. Whether the amount is big or small, he gives every customer a personalised service.

Before joining Key Currency, Wayne spent 12 years in recruitment and designed, built, and ran his own escape rooms business. He is a family man and loves his football.

Charles Martyn

As someone with a passion for finance, Charles prides himself on assisting clients without the need for complex jargon.

With his great people skills and IT proficiency, Charles ensures the money transfer process is quick, efficient and cost-effective.

Charles comes from a long family line of business entrepreneurs and has held leadership positions in the insurance and telecoms industries.

Alex McKenna

Alex is an integral member of our dealing team. He will happily help clients with exchange rates, assist with the set-up of payments, and make sure the whole process runs smoothly.

With a background in consumer finance, Alex has attained a BSc in International Business from Loughborough University. He is also a talented cricketer and footballer, having represented his county in both these sports.

Jack Hawkey

Jack works with his clients to find the best solution and market strategy to take advantage of any favourable rate moves.

Before joining our team, Jack worked for some of the biggest companies in the UK including BT Group, Tesco and HSBC. Outside of work, Jack is actively involved in his local football team.

Robert Griffith

Robert helps our customers manage the timing of their international payments and reducing the overall cost of their currency requirements.

He is passionate about the foreign exchange markets, and has a genuine interest in fundamental and technical analysis as well as risk management. In his spare time, Robert enjoys gardening and horticulture.

Kieran Wiles

Kieran is all about giving people a genuine service. He helps our customers get comfortable with money transfers and achieve the best outcome for their situation.

Before joining us, Kieran worked in financial advisory services. He is an accomplished Chef D’ Partie and works off the calories playing rugby and football.

Robert Garner

Robert is all about giving his clients the best service possible, whether that’s trying to get a better rate, keeping clients up to date with market movements or making sure the details and timing of each payment are right.

Outside of work, Robert is a nature lover. He has a first-class honours degree in Horticulture and was part of a team that won a silver medal at the Chelsea Flower Show.

In his spare time, Harry loves playing football for his local team, building his muscles in the gym and keeping a close eye on his share portfolio.

Tom helps customers get up and running. Money transfers don’t have to be complex or stressful when you’re given a helping hand.

Tom is an avid footballer who also supports West Ham United (sad but true). He also loves watching films, listening to music, and has a big interest in cars, especially modern classics.

Will is part of our registration team. We make sure you are looked after every step of the way and that includes setting things up correctly.

After spending his life moving from country to country, Will has finally settled in Cornwall. He often spends his spare time exploring Cornwall with his dog, chucking a rugby ball around, or putting on a good movie.

Outside of work Ryan is an avid rugby fan, his weekends are taken up by playing for his local town and coaching the Pirates of Penzance! He also enjoys spending time with his young family.

Jordan used to live in Australia, mining for gold and featured on the Discovery Channel. He’s returned to Cornwall and loves spending time with his horses and relaxing on the beach.

Vicky is our multi-talented head of the Balearic Islands. She is an established business development manager and previously spent a decade in the real estate sector. Vicky is also our in-house expert on social media strategy and speaks Catalan, Spanish and English.

Day to day, Vicky looks after our network of local partners ensuring we offer clients a reliable, efficient and valued service.

Fernando is a highly experienced member of our business development team in Spain.

Before moving into the currency sector, he helped run his family’s restaurant before transitioning into wholesale food importation and distribution for the national supermarkets. This valuable experience sparked his interest in the foreign exchange market.

Regional Sales Manager - Costa Blanca South

Tania is a highly experienced Business Development Manager with a proven background in financial services. She has lived in both the UK and Spain and is fluent in English, Spanish and Italian. In addition, she has the BTEC National Certificate in Travel & Tourism from University of Hertfordshire.

At Key Currency, Tania is focused on building and developing our relationships within the property and legal sectors.

Ricard Trilla

Regional Sales Manager – Catalunya

Ricard is our man on the ground in the beautiful Cataluyna region of Spain, providing our local clients and partners with valuable guidance on foreign exchange.

Finance runs through Ricard’s blood. He has a Masters in Financial Derivatives from the Institute of Financial Studies and has previously worked as a senior trader, financial advisor and investment manager.

David Greene

Regional Sales Manager - Murcia

David is an accomplished business development executive covering the region of Murcia.

He has spent his 25-year career working between Spain and the UK and has built-up experience in the real estate, textiles, dental and office equipment sectors.

Outside of work, David is well-known in the Alicante expat community for setting up a professional football league and a structured coaching programme for hundreds of children.

Fernando Lago

Head of Sales - Costa del Sol

Fernando represents us in the popular Costa de Sol region of Spain. He has a large network of affiliates and partners having worked in the currency sector for over 5 years.

Having lived half his life in Spain and half in England, Fernando has a great understanding of both cultures. He has a Bachelor of Sports Science from London Metropolitan University.

Izahbelle Bullerjahn Salazar

Head of Swedish Department

Izahbelle is a lawyer with an extensive knowledge of the finance market as well as GDPR, AML and KYC. She also has a good knowledge of the exchange market after working in the industry for some time. 

Speaking both Swedish, English Spanish and German she truly is an asset to our team in Costa Blanca.  

Outside work Izahbelle enjoys photographing, walks with her dog and going to the gym. 

Michael Campbell

Regional Sales Manager - Costa del Sol

Michael has an extensive knowledge of the foreign exchange market, having helped clients in Spain with their currency transfers for over 15 years. Michael works in one the most popular areas of Spain on the Costa del Sol. Michael has also worked in the credit and financial markets and is fluent in Spanish.

Outside of work, Michael enjoys skiing, good food and a nice glass of Spanish wine.

Marie Etherington

Marie is based in Alicante, one of the most popular regions in Spain for international property buyers. She brings vast experience and contacts to Key Currency having worked in the foreign exchange sector for over 19 years.

Outside of work Marie enjoys socializing, travel, good food, walking and swimming. Spending time with her family is her greatest pleasure. Living in Spain and speaking Spanish for over 25 years.

Javier Vázquez Fernández

Regional Sales Manager - Almeria

Javier covers the wonderful Andalucía region of Spain. With extensive experience in the real estate sector, he is able to build strong relationships with local partners that can benefit from our services.

Javier has an MBA and a degree in Marketing. He originally comes from Catalunya but fell in love with beautiful Andalucía, which he has called home since 2005.

In his spare time he is passionate about nature and exploring new landscapes with his family.

Scott Walker

Scott covers the vibrant and popular Costa del Sol region. Before joining us, he spent the last 9 years working in Spanish real estate and in that time helped hundreds of international clients find their dream homes on the Costa del Sol.

Outside of work he is involved with local football on various levels from coaching to commentating, although he claims his boots are officially now “hung up”.

Natalia is our latest addition to our Costa del Sol office. Having worked in London for a few years, Natalia is passionate about delivering the best customer service with great attention to detail.

Natalia relocated from London to Marbella 5 years ago and fully embraced the Spanish culture. She speaks English, Romanian and Spanish.

Outside of work Leanne is an ocean fanatic and is keen on water sports enjoying deep sea diving and surfing.

As a long-term resident of Ibiza, Hilary has strong connections within the business and hospitality community.

She has built a reputation as a honest and hard-working professional who helps clients save time and money on their currency transfers.

Erik Teigen

Business Development - Mallorca

Erik has extensive experience in real estate and tourism in Mallorca and is a Spanish authorized broker, appraiser, property manager and financial advisor. He is Norwegian by birth, but in 1998 changed the Vestfold coast for the Mediterranean. He specialises in the northern side of Mallorca and speaks Norwegian, Spanish, Majorcan and English.

Philip Dean

Head of Sales - Canary Islands

Philip brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to Key Currency. Having worked in business development for over 25 years in the banking, telecommunications, wellness and real estate sectors, Philip now oversees our operations in the Canary Islands.

Philip is a man of many talents. He has a degree in Pure Mathematics & Statistics, trained in music theatre, is a swimming fanatic, animal welfare advocate and teacher of meditation.
